Before and After

Hogle Zoo – Elephant Renovation

Working for Cal Wadsworth, we performed demolition work in the old elephant exhibit. The footings and foundation of the buildings were removed along with the waterways and foliage that surrounded the complex, and new windows were sawcut into existing structures.

University of Utah – Hillside U

After re-grading the perimeter of the U, our concrete division refinished the surface of the U by adding 4” of concrete on top of the existing structure. Additional concrete was also placed around the edge of the U to accommodate a new lighting system. Layton Construction was hired by the university to be the general contractor on the project and restoration funds were raised by alumni.

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

Greene Concrete Cutting went under the spotlight in an episode of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” featuring the Harrison family’s home in Bountiful, UT. Greene Concrete Cutting employees Kirk, Jimmy, and Kelly Greene helped transform the modest house into the home the Harrisons deserved. Oakland Construction, the general contractor, did a terrific job coordinating all the trades involved in the construction process.

I-215 Rehabilitation

Working for American Civil Constructors and UDOT under strict time constraints on nights and weekends with very strict traffic control, Greene Concrete Cutting rock drilled and epoxied thousands of dowel and tie bars into the concrete for added stabilization and strength. Sealing around all the joints of the replaced patches and panels was also required.
